I love this trilogy...It's such easy reading, but keeps you interested throughout the whole thing. So, not only is the trilogy good, Mr. Carman wrote a prequel to this wonderful tale.
"Into the Mist" talks about the two brothers, Thomas and Roland Warvold, as young children looking for answers and getting themselves into more and more adventures along the way.

Sorry, I couldn't get into this trilogy for some reason. I guess I'm too picky, but it was just like all of the other fantasy books to me. I would recommend it to early fantasy readers. mm
