A Red-Haired Queen & Talking Creatures

The Icemark Chronicles has become a fast favorite of all my books. It's hard to choose favorites, but I'd definately put these in the top 10.

"The Cry of the Icemark" is about a young girl who's made Queen before her time. She makes desperate allies, with the aid of a warlock, to fight with her against the evil Empire. But those allies are not your typical people...they're warewolves, vampires, and giant snow leopards. We'll see if our red-haired queen and her talking creature allies can win this war!

The second book, "Blade of Fire," is about this Queen's family and one of the major battles between the Empire and the Icemark. Her old allies are still loyal, but will they come in time. Also, there's an unexpected betrayal that could affect the outcome of their survival.

A three-day-weekend trilogy

If you haven't already read these books, you've got to!

The Bartimaeus Trilogy
I read each one in about a day...so, if you have a three-day-weekend coming up, grab them and be prepared to read fast! (I also read them with the Audio CD's...highly recommendable as well. Check them out from your library. The narrator is really good.)

"The Amulet of Samarkand"

"The Golem's Eye"

"Ptolemy's Gate"

The Land of Elyon

I love this trilogy...It's such easy reading, but keeps you interested throughout the whole thing. So, not only is the trilogy good, Mr. Carman wrote a prequel to this wonderful tale.

"Into the Mist" talks about the two brothers, Thomas and Roland Warvold, as young children looking for answers and getting themselves into more and more adventures along the way.
